The Operations Division

Cherry Hill Township, located in Camden County, is over 24 square miles and has a population of more than 70,000 residents. It is the 10th largest municipality in New Jersey.

The Operations Division is the largest and most visible division within the Cherry Hill Police Department. There are over 90 highly trained and dedicated men and women who are responsible for providing uniformed law enforcement services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to the residents and visitors of Cherry Hill Township.

The Operations Division is divided into 2 platoons with 5 squads each, working 12-hour shifts. This schedule allows for more officers to be deployed during times when calls for service are highest. The Township is broken down into 5 geographic districts, which enables officers assigned to those districts to provide a better working relationship with the residents and businesses throughout the community.

  • Handling various calls for service
  • Handling traffic accidents
  • Making arrests
  • Preventing crime
  • Resolving disputes
  • Taking crime reports
  • Traffic enforcement
