With municipal utility costs steadily increasing, the administration sees a homegrown source of power as a viable way to combat the uncontrollable cost of energy. The reduction in the Township's operating expense will ultimately affect a lower cost to the taxpayers.
In addition to all the financial benefits, the Township plans to influence surrounding municipalities and residents to consider alternative sources of energy. The Municipal Building will become a leaning center for sustainability with a key exhibit on alternative energy, i.e. solar.
