Frequently Asked Questions

The Township requires an exterior inspection through the Office of Property Maintenance while the Fire Department conducts an inspection per New Jersey Fire Code.

The cost of inspection is $100, due prior to inspection. Checks and applications can be mailed or dropped off at the Public Works Complex, 1 Perina Boulevard, from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Payment can also be processed utilizing the online application.

Items to be inspected include: sidewalks, driveways, fences, trees, sanitation, grading and drainage, natural growth, exhaust vents, discharge of sump pumps, accessory structures and ground surface hazards (See specifics).

Requests received eight (8) calendar days or more prior to the settlement date: $100.00

Requests received seven (7) calendar days prior to the settlement date: $115.00

Requests received three (3) calendar days or less prior to the settlement date: $162.00

Re-inspection Fee: $35.00

Sellers age 62 & over may deduct $30.00 from the first inspection fee - PROOF OF AGE REQUIRED

Payment is due at the time of inspection in the form of check or money order.
