About

Councilman Rob Connor is a lifelong resident of Cherry Hill and a proud member of the Kingston neighborhood, where he raised his two daughters—both graduates of Cherry Hill Public Schools, as he and his mother were before them. Rob lives just four homes from where he grew up and only one block from the house his grandparents built after moving from Camden in 1958, underscoring his deep roots and long-standing commitment to the community.

An active community leader, Rob has served as League President of the Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association, a member of the Cherry Hill National Board of Directors, and a volunteer coach for numerous youth baseball and softball teams. He has also given back as a volunteer umpire. Rob led the design, fundraising, and construction of the “Hit Zone,” making Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association the only youth organization in the area to build and operate its own indoor practice facility. The Hit Zone also became home to the “Little Slugger” program, providing the youngest children in Cherry Hill a place to be introduced to organized baseball and softball.

Rob has served on both the Cherry Hill Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Planning Board, including two years as Vice Chairman of the Planning Board. He was also a member of the Mayor’s Citizens Advisory Cabinet and has volunteered annually at the township’s July fireworks celebration. In recent years, Rob has been involved with community committees working on the development of the new township park at the former Kingston Swim Club site. He is also a member of Christ Our Light Church.

Professionally, Rob has worked for Babe Ruth League since 2006, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in Hamilton, New Jersey in 1951. He currently serves as Vice President of Operations, overseeing national business relationships and the selection and placement of the organization’s 16 World Series events held across the country each year. Rob also created the Babe Ruth League’s “Salute to Service” program, which honors active and retired members of the military, firefighters, and first responders at World Series events and within host communities.

Another core focus of Rob’s work is safety. He oversees and administers the organization’s S.A.F.E. (Safety Awareness for Everyone) program, which includes background checks and abuse-prevention training for volunteers nationwide. He is also a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association and serves on its Youth Baseball Organization Committee.

Through decades of volunteer service and professional leadership in the nonprofit sector, Rob has developed a strong passion for helping today’s youth grow into responsible, engaged citizens of tomorrow.
