(Cherry Hill, N.J.) – Mayor Chuck Cahn, Township Council and the Cherry Hill Arts Board are proud to welcome Trio Montage presents Stairway to Heaven, the second concert in the 2016-17 Cherry Hill Ensemble Series at Croft Farm. This performance will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, at the Croft Farm Arts Center (100 Bortons Mill Road, Cherry Hill, N.J. 08034).
Join us as we welcome Trio Montage, an ensemble from the Philadelphia chamber music organization 1807 & Friends, for an afternoon of music ranging from Mozart to Led Zeppelin. The Trio consists of former Philadelphia Orchestra musicians Nancy Bean (violin), Lloyd Smith (cello) and Anne Sullivan (harp). This world tour performance will feature music from Austria, Spain, Great Britain, France and Italy, and will be unlike anything heard before.
For over 12 years, Trio Montage has amassed a fascinating repertoire and has been delighting audiences with beloved favorites and rarely heard masterworks. The Trio is the core ensemble of 1807 & Friends’ interactive educational presentations “Young Composers Project” and “Sounds of the Strings” in the Philadelphia School District.
The perfect setting for this unique concert series is the Croft Farm Arts Center. Built in 1779, Croft Farm was once a working mill, farm and stop on the Underground Railroad. This historic landmark has played an important role in Southern New Jersey for more than 200 years. In 1995, the township converted the tractor barn into a 200-seat performance venue with concert-worthy acoustics. Today, the Arts Center has become a cultural haven for many Cherry Hill residents providing “big-city” entertainment without all the hassle of bridge tolls and parking.
Tickets to the Cherry Hill Ensemble Series may be purchased online at https://register.capturepoint.com/cherryhill or in Room 102 of the Municipal Building (820 Mercer Street, Cherry Hill, N.J. 08002). Seating is general admission and tickets are $15; $12 for seniors with a gold card and $5 for students. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for all performances.
The 2016-17 Cherry Hill Ensemble Series is sponsored by MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. For more information, please contact the Department of Recreation at 856-488-7868 or email Arts@chtownship.com.
