As part of our ongoing efforts to invest in and improve roads around Cherry Hill, the Township Department of Engineering began its 2016 Microsurfacing program this week, and will be working in areas across town for the next several weeks.
As part of this process, road crews will apply a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion that seals cracks and prevents moisture from penetrating the base of the roadway.
Microsurfacing has been a useful tool in extending the life of locally maintained streets that are not yet in need of full reconstruction. Coupled with the Township’s annual Road Maintenance Program and a robust pothole-repair program, this is one more way that our Departments of Public Works and Engineering work to keep Cherry Hill’s roads smooth and safe.
For more information on this or any of our road programs, contact the Department of Engineering at (856) 424-3203.
While exact construction dates are not available for each road, below is an approximate timeline for this year’s program. Please note that all dates are approximate, and work is weather-dependent.
