New Jersey American Water is expected to begin construction to upgrade the water main and water service lines along Lantern Lane beginning on or about Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, weather-permitting.
The majority of this work will take place in the roadway; however some work will take place in the sidewalk or park strip. Construction will continue for approximately 8 weeks, with final paving and other restoration to follow in the Spring of 2016. Any residential property affected will be restored to its original condition and the street will be repaved.
All construction dates and time frames are subject to weather and other scheduling issues.
Service should remain uninterrupted except for a brief period when individual service lines are connected to the newly-installed main. Residents will be notified when the shut-off is to occur, but do not need to be present for it to take place. Access to properties will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. If your water meter is located inside your home, you will be contacted to schedule a convenient time to move it to a new meter pit at the curb line.
Connecting service lines to the new main may cause air to enter the line, or could create a disturbance of debris in your plumbing. If this occurs, please run your cold water for a few minutes, until the water runs clear.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution, drive slowly and obey all traffic signs when in the work area.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the project can contact Ed Opczynski at (856) 764-6924 or Laura Hadley at (856) 255-2038.
