Mayor Susan Shin Angulo and Township Council honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and reaffirm the spirit of his legacy in pursuit of social justice and dedication to service above self.
As we reflect on his lasting message today, our thoughts are also with the victims of this weekend’s shocking act of violence and hate at a synagogue in Texas. We are grateful for the victims’ safety and the dedication of local law enforcement and the FBI, and unequivocally condemn all acts of hatred, bigotry and anti-semitism. On this day honoring Dr. King’s mission, there is no better time to rededicate ourselves to the values he embodied and ask our neighbors to join us in the continued fight for peace, justice, and equality, especially as the right to vote remains under threat in our Country. In the words of Dr. King, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
