    To help replace shade trees that have been removed in our neighborhoods, we’re offering free trees for residents! We encourage you to plant these trees in your front lawn, between the sidewalk and your house, to enhance curb appeal and restore valuable shade.

    Planting Guidelines:

    • Trees should be planted at least 4 feet from any sidewalk to ensure healthy growth.
    • Select a location that allows the tree to thrive while benefiting your home and community.

    By planting a tree, you’re contributing to a greener, healthier neighborhood for generations to come.

35. 4. Waiver & Agreement

    I, the undersigned, understand and agree to the below terms regarding my participation in the Cherry Hill Township Free Tree Giveaway program. I further understand that I am waiving any right I had to take legal action against Cherry Hill Township, its employees, officers, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses for any damages sustained as a result of my participation in the Cherry Hill Township Free Tree Giveaway. Additionally, by agreeing to this waiver I am acknowledging that I, the undersigned, am the home owner, or an approved person, who is authorized to accept the tree for plantation on my property.  
    
    Possession and Transport of the Tree – I understand and agree that I will be in full possession of the tree provided to me by Cherry Hill Township upon my arrival to the tree pick-up area designated by Chery Hill Township. Any transportation, hauling, or physical activity required to transport the tree shall be my sole responsibility. I understand and agree that I waive my ability to take legal action against Cherry Hill Township, its employees, officers, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses should I, or anyone assisting me to pick up the tree, sustain injury or cause injury while transporting, hauling, lifting, or physically moving the tree to its final destination.
    
    Tree Care & Maintenance – I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for the care, maintenance, and overall health of the tree provided to me. This includes proper planting, watering, pruning, and any other necessary upkeep. I understand that any costs associated with planting and maintaining the tree shall be incurred by me with no assistance from the township. I further understand that I am solely responsible for the proper plantation of the tree on my own property and that knowledge and/or education of my property’s boundaries, for the purposes of both planting and maintaining the tree, is my sole responsibility.
    
    No Township Liability – I acknowledge that Cherry Hill Township is not responsible for maintaining the tree after it has been provided to me. I understand that any issues related to the tree, including but not limited to its health, growth, or stability, are my responsibility.
    
    Assumption of Risk – I accept full responsibility for any potential risks or damages associated with the tree, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, or interference with utility lines. I understand that Cherry Hill Township assumes no liability for any damages, losses, or claims that may arise from the tree’s planting, growth, or condition.
    
    Indemnification – I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cherry Hill Township, its employees, officers, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses that may result from Cherry Hill Township’s Free tree giveaway including, but not limited to, the tree’s transportation, planting, maintenance, or condition.
