Home Smoke Alarm Program

Do you have working Smoke Alarms in your home?

Smoke Alarm

Working smoke alarms increase the chance of survival by 63% in the event of a fire.

Smoke Alarm Program

If your home is in need of smoke alarms or if you are unsure if your alarms are working, please submit the request form or call the Fire Marshal's Office at (856) 429-7441.

The office is staffed Monday through Friday, but messages may be left at any time.

A CHFD representative will arrange to visit your home in order to evaluate your existing alarms. If you do not have working smoke alarms on each level of your home, they will be installed at that time.

PLEASE NOTE: homes constructed after 1977 are required to be equipped with hard-wired (electric) smoke alarms. Hard-wired smoke alarms CANNOT be replaced with battery operated alarms.
