The Township wishes to receive proposals for the Cherry Hill Public Library (CHPL) from vendors for the operation of a café and/or catering services at the Library.  The contract will give the vendor(s) and exclusive right to operate the café and/or catering services during the term of the contract(s). 

The CHPL is located at 1100 Kings Highway North, and is a state-of-the-art building which opened in December 2004 with over 70,000 square feet and is located on 7 acres. The CHPL comprises 2 stories with a developed lower basement level, which houses a high tech multimedia room, computer lab, multicultural room & local history room.  Also included is a café, meeting rooms, auditorium & various event spaces.  CHPL is committed to servicing the educational, cultural, social & business needs of the Cherry Hill community.

The CHPL is open to the public from:

                10:00 AM to 9:00 PM Mon-Wednesday 

                 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Thursday-Saturday

                 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday (closed Sunday’s from Father’s Day to Mid-September and the Sunday after

                 Thanksgiving to the third Sunday in January)

                  (All hours subject to change)

 The Library is closed New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.    


The CHPL hosts approx. 50 large scale events & 600 meetings during the year.  Currently, 28,000 active cardholders are enrolled.  Many patrons frequent the CHPL who are not active card members to read, study, research, use the computer room, etc.

This RFP is seeking to select a catering vendor for hot and cold full meals – served and buffet style, receptions and other special functions.  The style of events range from outdoor picnics to sit-down elegant dining.

 

The café vendor will provide for food and beverage items in a non-cooking environment throughout the day.  Hot food items prepared off site are allowed as well as light duty, warming accessories, coffee makers, etc.  The café features indoor and outdoor eating areas.
