WHEREAS Cherry Hill is proud to welcome 2015 Cherry Hill West graduate Sarah McGlinn back to the Township as the Temple Owls and LaSalle Explorers face off in a special women's soccer match at the Chapel Avenue soccer field; and
WHEREAS during her high school athletic career, Sarah was a standout center-midfielder for the Cherry Hill West Lions, a two-time captain and three-time all-conference selection who led the team in goals, assists and points during her last three years with the team; and
WHEREAS additionally, Sarah helped her club team to win the 2012 US Club State Cup, 2013 Region 1 Colonial League Championship, and the 2014 NPL National Championship; and
WHEREAS Sarah was a stand-out off the field, as well, as a four-year member of student council and the DECA Business Competition Group; and
WHEREAS today, Sarah is fulfilling her dream of playing Division I collegiate soccer at Temple University, following in the footsteps of her father, Chuck, who played soccer at St. Joseph's University; and
WHEREAS we are proud of Sarah and her countless accomplishments, which exemplify the best of Cherry Hill Township, our schools, and our student athletes, and we wish to honor her and wish her all the best as she continues her collegiate career.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to proclaim April 2, 2016 as
Sarah McGlinn Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do encourage all citizens to celebrate Sarah and her career as a Cherry Hill West Lion, to thank her for so admirably representing Cherry Hill as a collegiate athlete, and wishing her continued success - both on and off the field - as a Temple Owl, and throughout her life.
