As part of the Township’s new contract for automated trash and recycling collection and disposal, the Township’s participation in the Recyclebank rewards program will end on Dec. 31, 2015. The new contract will save Cherry Hill taxpayers approximately $1.3 million over the next five years.
These changes will not affect your residential curbside recycling service. Recycling will continue to be collected on your normal collection day, in the same blue cart.
Although residents will no longer accrue points for their curbside recycling tonnage, your points will remain active and accessible, and you may continue to earn points through certain “green” activities such as quizzes, pledges and other interactive features on the Recyclebank website. You can explore these features by visiting www.Recyclebank.com.
Your account will remain active for as long as you remain active in the system – either earning or using points. Points will expire after 12 months of inactivity.
Recyclebank will send account holders an e-mail later this week. If you have any questions about your Recyclebank membership, you may respond directly to that e-mail, or contact Recyclebank customer service at (888) 727-2978.
If you have any questions about curbside recycling in Cherry Hill, please contact the Department of Public Works at (856) 424-4422.
We are proud of our town’s recycling efforts. Cherry Hill has become one of the top recycling communities in the state, with an overall recycling rate that consistently ranks higher than the state average. That success has translated into hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant dollars to the Township in recent years, and we encourage residents to continue those strong recycling habits.
