WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on Tuesday evening, June 9, The Jewish Community Voice will hold its 26th Annual Meeting at Lions Gate in Voorhees, New Jersey; and
WHEREAS the Annual Meeting serves as installation of the Voice’s leadership for the coming year, and tonight, Cherry Hill resident Harriet Schulman concludes an exemplary three-year term as the Voice’s President; and
WHEREAS a longtime community volunteer and fundraiser in South Jersey, Harriet has served the Voice for a number of years as a member of the executive board, vice president, annual meeting chair, and as a member of the personnel and strategic planning committees; and
WHEREAS Harriet has been an active member of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and the Jewish Community Relations Council, and is a 2012 recipient of the H. Richard Dollinger Community Service Award, the Federation’s Highest Honor; and
WHEREAS additionally, Harriet has volunteered with the Cherry Hill and Haddonfield Police Department’s Side by Side Domestic Violence Response Team and Camden County’s Disaster Response Team; and
WHEREAS The Jewish Community Voice has delivered local, national and international news to South Jersey’s diverse and growing Jewish Community since 1941, and Cherry Hill Township is delighted to recognize the role Harriet has played in allowing the Voice to continue to thrive throughout her tenure as president.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to honor and thank
