Ensemble Series returns on Oct. 26 with ‘The Voices’

(Cherry Hill, N.J.) – Mayor Chuck Cahn, Township Council and the Cherry Hill Arts Advisory Board are proud to present “The Voices,” the inaugural performance in the 2014-15 Cherry Hill Ensemble Concert Series, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Croft Farm Arts Center.

“The Voices” will feature dazzling vocal performances by three resident Sopranos from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, Anush Avetisyan, Julie Dawson, and recent graduate Chloe Moore. As a special addition to the performance, aspiring Cherry Hill High School East singers Patricia Irwin and Abigayle Stoetzer have been invited to accompany the AVA’s vocalists.

“Cherry Hill Township is excited to see some of our region’s premier voices perform on stage at our own Croft Farm Arts Center, for an afternoon that promises to be unique and enjoyable,” Mayor Cahn said. “I want to thank the members of the Academy of Vocal Arts for helping to train and coach our two promising young singers, and for giving them the opportunity to perform together in what I’m sure will be a memorable experience.”

“The Voices” will be the final program in the Township’s two-week-long Fall Into the Arts celebration, which runs from Oct. 11-26 at historic Croft Farm. This year’s festivities and events include a Juried Photography Exhibit, a mini-film festival showcasing the Best of the Garden State Film Festival, and the popular, family-friendly Harvest Festival. For the full Fall Into the Arts schedule, visit the Cherry Hill Arts Advisory website at http://CherryHillArts.Blogspot.com.

The Cherry Hill Ensemble Series is sponsored by NFI. Tickets are $15 each ($12 for seniors and $5 for students), and are available in advance in Room 102 of the Municipal Building, 820 Mercer St., Cherry Hill. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for all performances.

The Ensemble Series will continue at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, when the Philadelphia Orchestra and Philadelphia Pops bring to life the music of the Beatles, and will conclude at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, when the Ocean City Pops perform “Beautiful Music: The Music of Carole King, James Taylor and others.”

About the Academy of Vocal ArtsThe Academy of Vocal Arts’ mission is to be the world's premier institution for training young artists as international opera soloists. Through rigorous instruction and coaching, and by presentations of Resident Artists from around the world in concerts, oratorios, public programs and fully staged professional opera productions, the Academy aims to train artists with the high potential for career success while enriching lives in Philadelphia and beyond. Featured in the Oct. 26 concert will be AVA residents Anush Avetisyan, Julie Dawson, and recent graduate Chloe Moore, accompanied by pianist Luke Housner. Performing from Cherry Hill East are senior Patricia Irwin and junior Abigayle Stoetzer.

About Croft FarmThe perfect setting for this unique concert series is the Croft Farm Arts Center. Built in 1779, Croft Farm was once a working mill, farm and stop on the Underground Railroad. The landmark has played an important role in Southern New Jersey for more than 200 years, and is listed on both the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. In 1995, Cherry Hill Township converted the farm’s tractor barn into a 200-seat performance venue with concert-worthy acoustics. The Arts Center has become a cultural haven for many Cherry Hill residents providing “big-city” entertainment without the price tag of big-city tickets, bridge tolls and parking. The Arts Center was renovated last year with a new vestibule, flexible seating that increases capacity by 75-100 seats per performance, a repositioned stage, and renovated restrooms.
