Don't miss Fall into the Arts, Oct. 11-26 at historic Croft Farm

Mayor Chuck Cahn and the Cherry Hill Arts Board are proud to present Fall Into the Arts – a two-week series of art and cultural events— Saturday, October 11 through Sunday, October 26 at the Croft Farm Arts Center (100 Bortons Mill Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034).

This exhilarating series opens with a Juried Photography Show. Photographers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to enter this juried exhibit. The non-refundable jurying fee is $10 per piece and each photographer may submit up to 3 pieces for consideration during Intake on October 8 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Arts Center. Each year photographers ranging between novice and professional backgrounds enter and each has immeasurable talent. All photographs are hand-selected by a highly accredited jury and will be on display in the Arts Center, as well as available for sale throughout each Fall Into the Arts event. For a full list of guidelines, please visit http://CherryHillArts.Blogspot.com.

The art gallery will officially open on Saturday, October 11 at 6:00 p.m. with an artist’s reception. Awards will be presented to the top jury-selected pieces and light refreshments will be served. Closing out the two-week long celebration will be the first concert of the 2014 - 2015 Cherry Hill Ensemble Series, on Sunday October 26. Join us as we welcome three sopranos and an accompanist from the Academy of Vocal Arts along with singers from Cherry Hill High School East for this afternoon performance. Sopranos include: Anush Avetisyan, Chloe Moore and Julia Dawson, accompanied by pianist Luke Housner. The concert begins at 3 p.m., and doors will open at 2:30 p.m. Seating is general admission and tickets are just $15, $12 for seniors with a Gold card and $5 for students and children under 12. The 2014 – 2015 Ensemble Series is sponsored by NFI.

Year to year Fall Into the Arts becomes more and more unique, and just as unique is the Croft Farm Arts Center, which has also experienced many changes. Built in 1779, Croft Farm was once a working mill, farm and stop on the Underground Railroad. This historic landmark has played an important role in Southern New Jersey for more than 200 years. In 1995, the township converted the tractor barn into a 200-seat performance venue with concert-worthy acoustics. The Arts Center has become a cultural haven for many Cherry Hill residents providing “big-city” entertainment without all the hassle of bridge tolls and parking. Last summer renovations to the Art Center included a new vestibule, more flexibility for seating during events, a repositioned stage, partitioned walls and a facelift to the restroom facilities. These exciting changes will be sure to improve your entire experience.

For more information about Fall Into the Arts or to reserve tickets to any of the events, please contact the Recreation Department at 856-488-7868, or email Arts@CHTownship.com.
