Save the date for the 5th annual Art Blooms Earth Festival, April 26

(Cherry Hill, N.J.) -- Spring should be in full bloom for families, neighbors, students and friends participating in the 5th Cherry Hill Art Blooms Earth Festival Saturday, April 26 at Croft Farm, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The event is a family affair for many participants working with Cherry Hill Township and Sustainable Cherry Hill for this engaging day on the historic farmstead.

Starting with 8 a.m. registration at Challenge Grove on Bortons Mill Road, the Family Fun Bike Ride brings families out for the two and nine-mile cruise through the Barclay Farm neighborhood adjacent to Croft Farm. All bicycle riders aged 8 and up are welcome to participate in the short and longer ride provided each rider wears a helmet. Keswick Cycle is providing free bike tune-ups and safety checks at the start of the ride.

Among the many people working to make this year’s Earth Festival a success is Sustainable Cherry Hill executive board member Caren Kaufman. She’s helping organize two stages of entertainment, recruit volunteers for the Ambassador Corps and getting her family on the bandwagon, too.

“My parents are joining our family at the festival as volunteers while my children get in some community service hours and experience all there is to enjoy and learn about at this engaging event,” says Caren.

Her son, Sam, who is a budding filmmaker, is documenting this year’s festival on film; her daughter Isabel is working with the festival’s ‘artist in residence’ and other students on a Haiku project.

Engaging student displays, performances, crafters, plant exchange, and Sustainable Cherry Hill task forces offer ways to be “green” in your life. Festival events include:
• E-Force electronics recycling drop-off: most “Anything With A Plug;” NO TVs; monitors; large appliances
• Recycling: shoes, hangers, plastic shopping bags
• Cherry Hill Food Pantry: bring non-perishable food for donation
• Plant exchange and free compost pickup
• “Green” crafters and vendors with items for purchase
• Family and kid fun: moon bounce, planting, arts & crafts; ‘artist in resident’ project for all to enjoy.
Enjoy healthy and delicious selections from Chimp Aid Café, J-Dogs and more. Live music and entertainment from area school bands choirs, dance groups and more will be performed on two stages.

Event updates are available at The festival is made possible in part by generous presenting sponsors: Hutchinson Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, LourdesCare of Cherry Hill and Ravitz Family Foundation; Leadership sponsors include: Sustainable Camden County, Investors Bank, M. Rosenblatt Roofing and Flaster Greenberg. For more Earth Festival information and to volunteer at the event, contact Brenda Jorett,
