The following is a statement from Mayor Chuck Cahn and members of Township Council in response to the terrorist attacks on New Zealand mosques.
“It is truly a sad day for all Muslims, the people of New Zealand, and people of all faiths who should have the ability to pray and worship in peace. These cowardice acts of violence strike at the very core of humanity, and we must join together in condemning these horrendous and sickening murders. Our hearts and prayers are with the victims of these horrific attacks and all those affected by this hideous tragedy, as well as with our Muslim friends and neighbors. In an act of solidarity and support, a Jumuah prayer service is being held today at the Cherry Hill Mosque, 5 Esterbrook Lane, at 1 pm. We encourage all those who can, to try and attend this service, to show support for our Muslim community, and all those affected by this terrible tragedy."
