WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight, the Cherry Hill community comes together to honor Cherry Hill West Girls Varsity Volleyball coach Kelly Harris, for her unwavering dedication to the volleyball program at West; and
WHEREAS Coach Harris has had a tremendous and positive impact on the lives of many young Cherry Hill residents by instilling in them the importance of teamwork, discipline, and a healthy attitude, both on and off the court; and
WHEREAS Coach Harris has mentored her players into innovated and extraordinary individuals that lead with purpose and passion and strive to make a difference within our community; and
WHEREAS most recently, she worked side-by-side with her team to plan and host the first ‘Spike Out Cancer’ game at Cherry Hill West. Through hard work and collaboration, the team raised proceeds to be donated to the Cooper Foundation’s Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Fund, which benefits breast and gynecological cancer clinical and research programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper; and
WHEREAS in addition to the countless number of students, players, and, residents that have been touched by Coach Harris’s gracious generosity, the entire community is stronger because of her dedication and commitment to making Cherry Hill a better place to work, play, and live; and
WHEREAS on behalf of the entire Cherry Hill community, I want to thank Coach Kelly Harris and let her know that we appreciate the year-round effort it takes to build, grow, and sustain a successful team.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to honor and recognize
Coach Kelly Harris
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in congratulating Coach Harris on her outstanding selfless commitment and loyalty to her players.
