WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight, the Cherry Hill community wishes to celebrate and commemorate the 60th anniversary of Woodcrest Elementary School; and
WHEREAS Woodcrest Elementary School was one of the first elementary schools built and opening in Cherry Hill, which at the time was called Delaware Township; and
WHEREAS over the last six decades, Woodcrest has continued to grow, evolve and thrive as a high-achieving school with a talented, dedicated and energetic administration and staff, bright young students, and devoted families – including many parents who themselves attended Woodcrest; and
WHEREAS Cherry Hill is fortunate to be home to so many wonderful educational institutions like Woodcrest Elementary School, our strong educational system and commitment to raising children who are well-rounded, intelligent and engaged citizens, has helped to contribute greatly to Cherry Hill’s reputation as a great place for young families to live and grow; and
WHEREAS as Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill, we are proud to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Woodcrest Elementary School , and wish them all the best as they continue to cultivate a climate of collaboration, creativity and education that has allowed generations of Cherry Hill Elementary School students to learn, grow and succeed.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim September 28, 2018, to be
Woodcrest Elementary School Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in congratulating the entire Woodcrest Elementary School community on reaching this milestone, and in thanking the administration and staff for making Woodcrest a shining example of excellence in Cherry Hill’s public schools.
