WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and events; and
WHEREAS tonight, we wish to honor Dr. Joseph Meloche, Superintendent of Cherry Hill Public Schools, for being awarded the New Jersey PTA Superintendent of the Year; and
WHEREAS for over two decades, Dr. Meloche has devoted his life to advancing public education; and
WHEREAS Dr. Meloche’s years of service to Cherry Hill Schools include roles as a student, teacher, Director of Curriculum, Assistant Superintendent, and his current role of Superintendent; and
WHEREAS during his three plus years as Superintendent of Cherry Hill Public Schools, Dr. Meloche’s unwavering commitment to all students and staff has ensured effective access to meaningful and challenging learning opportunities for all Cherry Hill Public School students; and
WHEREAS Dr. Meloche has built strong relationships and open lines of communication with students, families, the Board of Education, and the entire Cherry Hill community; and
WHEREAS Dr. Meloche has earned the admiration and respect of his students, colleagues, and community members in Cherry Hill Township Public Schools for his commitment, collegiality, enthusiasm, professionalism, compassion, and hard work; and
WHEREAS on behalf of the entire Cherry Hill community, I want to congratulate Dr. Meloche on receiving the New Jersey PTA Superintendent of the Year and let him know we are extremely proud of him and appreciate his efforts to continue to build and grow our superb school district; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Monday, April 23, 2018, to be
Dr. Joseph Meloche Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and urge all citizens to join with me and the members of Township Council in recognizing Dr. Meloche for his commitment to educate youth within Cherry Hill and the South Jersey region for more than twenty years.
