WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, members of Temple Beth Sholom of Cherry Hill have come together to honor Rabbi Micah Peltz, who recently celebrated ten years of service to Temple Beth Sholom of Cherry Hill; and
WHEREAS Rabbi Peltz has helped train lay leaders for Temple Beth Sholom by creating and conducting the President’s Leadership Institute and created an advisory group of business leaders at Temple Beth Sholom, the Conservative Community Beit Midrash; and
WHEREAS he has brought distinction to Temple Beth Sholom by serving on the Committee of Law and Standards of the Rabbinical Assembly of Conservative Judaism, the New Jersey Holocaust Commission, the Board of Directors of Camp Ramah in the Poconos, and the Religious Leadership Panel of the Medical College of New Jersey; and
WHEREAS Rabbi Peltz enriches the Jewish community by delivering lectures, teaching classes to learners of all ages and presiding over important communal and Jewish events, and by leading community and Confirmation Class trips to Israel; and
WHEREAS Rabbi Peltz’s passion for pastoral care shows through his every action, and he has demonstrated a true gift for creating a caring and inclusive community that extends far beyond the congregation; and
WHEREAS for these reasons and many others, Mayor Cahn and the members of Cherry Hill Township Council are pleased to celebrate Rabbi Peltz’s ten years of service to Temple Beth Sholom of Cherry Hill.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to honor and celebrate
Rabbi Micah Peltz
for his contributions and service to Cherry Hill Township and Temple Beth Sholom, and ask that all citizens join with me and the members of Township Council in wishing Rabbi Peltz and his family all the best as they continue to serve Temple Beth Sholom and make Cherry Hill a better, stronger place to live, work and play.
