WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, the Cherry Hill High School East Singers and Thespians will host the 11th annual East Coffeehouse, a fundraiser and talent show that raises money for a worthwhile organization each year; and
WHEREAS this year’s event will raise money for “Roots and Shoots,” a program founded by Dr. Jane Goodall with the goal of encouraging youth leaders in sustainability; and
WHEREAS one of the principal goals of the Township’s own sustainability plan – the “Roadmap to Our Future,” was to support events that bring together residents in the spirit of community, and unity, particularly when those events center on creating a more sustainable future; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council wish to commend the young men and women involved in this year’s event for their hard work in organizing and executing such a wonderful evening; and
WHEREAS we particularly wish to thank the East Singers Choral Group and their director, Mrs. Laurie Lausi; Thespian Society Troup 2013 and advisor Tom Weaver; and Cherry Hill East Graduate, Goodall Institute veteran and Chimp Aid Café Founder Amanda Ketterer, for the roles they have played in bringing this year’s Coffeehouse to life.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby celebrate on this Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, the 11th annual
Cherry Hill East ‘Roots and Shoots’ Coffeehouse
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in thanking our Cherry Hill East community for their leadership in supporting a wonderful and worthwhile organization, and making our world a better place to live for an 11th consecutive year.
