WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight, Temple Beth Sholom honors Morah Harriet Baker for her countless contributions through the years as a volunteer and leader within the Jewish community; and
WHEREAS since the day she became a member of TBS 38 years ago, Morah Harriet stepped right into the community and has played an active role ever since; and
WHEREAS Harriet’s loving interaction with the children at TBS has extended from being Hebrew school teacher to Education Coordinator for the ECEC and Religious school; and
WHEREAS Morah Harriet has been honored with the Harriette Sengin Award in recognition of her service and the Solomon Schechter Award for her “Let’s Make a Meal” program; and
WHEREAS in light of her various contributions to the Temple Beth Sholom and South Jersey communities, we can think of no individual more deserving of honor at this year’s Temple Beth Sholom Tribute Dinner than Morah Harriet Baker, and we are proud to join with the congregation in this tribute.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to honor and recognize
Morah Harriet Baker
as an exemplary member of our Cherry Hill community, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing Morah Harriet’s many years of service to the congregation and our Jewish community as a whole, and in thanking her for her continued efforts to make Cherry Hill a better place to live and play.
