WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, members of the Cherry Hill and South Jersey communities have come together to celebrate a business milestone for longtime friend and resident Charlie Foulke Jr., who opened his first Dodge franchise 50 years ago, in 1967; and
WHEREAS in celebration of the dealership’s Golden Anniversary, and in commemoration of today’s Earth Day, Mr. Foulke has organized the planting of 50 trees to beautify the perimeter of his namesake Foulke Field, which has, since 2013, served as a beautiful facility for our local Babe Ruth Baseball players; and
WHEREAS Mr. Foulke began his career in the automotive industry following his service in the Korean War – first as a lot boy at a used car dealership, then car salesman, until, in 1967, he was awarded his first Dodge franchise; and
WHEREAS today, Foulke’s Cherry Hill Triplex remains a national sales volume leader, and Mr. Foulke operates seven South Jersey franchises, including Cherry Hill Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, RAM, FIAT, Chevrolet, KIA, Mitsubishi, Audi and Volkswagen; and
WHEREAS additionally, Mr. Foulke has channeled his success to benefit the entire community, serving as a generous philanthropist who has supported many local organizations, including the Cooper Foundation and Cherry Hill Education Foundation, youth sports, and many more; and
WHEREAS for the reasons cited above and many more, we are proud to join with other officials from across the South Jersey region to congratulate Mr. Foulke on 50 years of business, and wish to thank him for continuing to give back to make Cherry Hill an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to celebrate
Charlie Foulke Jr., 50 Years in Business
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in wishing Mr. Foulke continued success as a member of our Cherry Hill community.
