WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS Feb. 1, 2017, is National Signing Day, one of the most celebrated days in college football, during which some of the nation’s most promising student-athletes commit to their future schools; and
WHEREAS this year, two graduating seniors and stand-out football stars from Cherry Hill High School West have committed to attend two NCAA Division 1 Football schools, including cornerback Harrison Hand, who plans to attend Baylor University; and
WHEREAS during his high school career, and particularly during the 2016 season, Harrison established himself as one of the top recruits in the state of New Jersey, and emerged as a team leader during a historic season for the Lions; and
WHEREAS Harrison is regarded as a wonderful teammate, and his achievements on the field have come as a result of years of hard work, dedication and good sportsmanship; and
WHEREAS Division 1 football teams are among the nation’s most elite programs, and having two players from the same program commit to these schools is a tremendous achievement, and a testament to both the character and quality of the athletes themselves, as well as their high school program; and
WHEREAS in light of these facts, the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township are proud to join the Cherry Hill West community in celebrating Harrison’s commitment to attend Baylor University and play for the Baylor Bears.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to honor and recognize

On National Signing Day 2017, and do urge all citizens to join with me and the members of Township Council in acknowledging Harrison’s remarkable career at Cherry Hill West, and in wishing him all the best in his college career, both on and off the field.
