Roles and Responsibilities
In collaboration with Township Officials and Cherry Hill Police, the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was incorporated into the construction of Central Command, allowing for a state-of-the-art EOC. The EOC is activated at such times that the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, OEM Coordinator or On-Duty Shift Commander feels its implementation is necessary to maintain effective service to our community. It is an interdisciplinary field dealing with the organizational management process used to protect critical assets. The EOC is overseen by the Assistant Fire Chief.
The main role for the EOC is to plan for and respond to any emergency within the township. Additionally, we are responsible for coordinating the response of local, County and State officials during times of emergencies.
